One of the coolest things about writing our book, Young House Love, was that it allowed us to design things that don’t necessarily have to fit right into our house, which was awesomely freeing and allowed us to discover some amazing new colors that don’t have to match or “work” with whatever we have going on right now. In short: it was a whole new world of color. So here are five new colors that we met and abruptly fell in love with during the process of shooting our book back in January and February.
Moroccan Spice AF-285 - It made for an awesome wall color but would also look amazing on a piece of furniture or even a smaller item like a mirror frame.
Chamomile 397 - This color not only would look great outside on a planter, we can totally see it on a kid’s table, the frame of a chalkboard, or even on bamboo chairs with bright and happy upholstery to go with them.
14 Carrots CSP-1110 – This bright citrus-y orange is bold and fun. It could be awesome on a pantry door in the middle of a white kitchen or on a piece of furniture or even smaller things like a collection of frames that are hanging together on the wall.
Berry Fizz CSP-440 – We had so much fun using this color on some decal art that we did on a plank of wood, but it really could go anywhere – from a bathroom vanity to a lamp base or even just splashed on a giant canvas and then hung above someone’s sofa.
Sunburst 2023-40 - This bright cheerful color definitely woke up the wall, but it could also be great on a table (especially mixed with white chairs) or even a large vase or planter that could use a little more oomph.
So there it is, five colors that we never would have gotten to play around with had it not been for our book. Do you guys have colors you love that originally felt a little bit outside of your comfort zone?

Who knew I’d fall in luv with orange!!!
Just moved into “MY”, place, would love your ideas for colour!!
I never thought that I was a fan of yellow walls. That being said, I fell in love with Benjamin Moore’s lemon sorbet and have since painted my craft room in it. I love it!
Liked the Moroccan spice. More appealing than the bold oranges of past years.
Liked the Moroccan Spice. More appealing than the oranges in previous years.
I loved “In Perfect Balance” because of the colors which happen to be my favorite.
I love the Modern, Minimalist, and Marvelous! Love the pop of red.
I love EVERYTHING Candice has done. I wish she could help me. I have a small room with large furniture and need it all because we don’t have the closet space needed. I have an old fashioned wall paper I want to put up. But should I stick to paint instead? Maybe a light pink?
I love the Modern, Minimalist and Marvelous Bedroom! I love it when the basics are neutral and I can use pops of color in my assessories! Then I can change the look by just changing my assessories and I don’t break our budget! Plus I love love the modern minimalist look! Win Win!!
Candince is one of my favorite desingners
As a designer myself, I can tell you that Candice
Is my favorite and even if I can design my own
Decor, it could be an extraordinary gift to have her
Design at my home. Hope one day…. Which one
I do prefer???? All of them but specialy the Moroccan
Color because I went to Moroccan last June and I felt
In love whit the design and color and the Riad Hotels.
They are all very nice, but my favorite is the Cavernous to Cozy color scheme. Soft on the eye and looks very relaxing. My home is my hobby. I love to paint and don’t even mind the intricate small brushes to get it right. Give me a room..a gallon of paint and I am happy!!
I love the C’est Magnifique bedroom AND the Berry Fizz colors. Thanks 4 boutiqe :)
For me, it is all about the Dreamy Retreat. The rich blend of cocoa color and modern graphic pattern against the cool walls speaks to me. It has both a sophisticated Master Bedroom feel and a cozy retreat factor. The texture and grandeur of the multiple fans looks like a Bali getaway. Yum!
Moroccan Spice! I’ve been “curry-ed away”!!!
Candice’s designs are always FABULOUS
Candice is a great designer as are all the cast on HGTV they amaze with all there knowledge of color. We always use Benjamin Moore paints. Candice gives me inspiration.
Just painted my room a satin Cinnamon Spice with the wood trim painted white. I love it because it is so warm and inviting.
My dream would be to have Candice design any room in my house. My favorite bedroom is Cest Magnifique, but all of them are absolutely beautiful. Candice finds the most wonderful lighting and fabrics-yummy!
my favorite thing is to be the guy to put the paint on and be as happy as the customer
